First step to automation.

As i am waiting for a free spot on a remote imaging site in the south of Spain i will automate everything that is needed to image remotely.

One of the things that has to be automated is focusing, i thought it was the best idea to place a Robofocus on the stock Takahashi focuser.
Installation of the Robofocus was very easy, removing the stock manual focus knob was done by removing one bolt.
As my Robofocus came without any installation plate i made my own from stainless steel.
The installation plate was then bolted to the focuser housing of the FSQ 106, while the Robofocus unit was not fully tightened yet untill everything was allinged properly.

Everything mounted

Robofocus V3.1 and the QSI 583WS both mounted on the Takahashi FSQ 106 EDX.The QSI583WS is connected to the FSQ by an custom adapter made by PreciseParts.com

Control box

The Robofocus control box is connected to a power source and serial data connection to the PC. After that the focus unit is connected by a serial connection to the focuser control box.
